Disgarded Wine is Delish....

So, some of the backstory of how we came to have this wine shall remain hidden to protect the innocent. Needless to say, this wine was not purchased and the bottle was on the way to be 'recycled'. Trouble was the bottle was still full and the seal uncracked (we swear). This is not like George Constanza eating an eclair with one bite out of it from the trash, even though it was above the rim, on a magazine, and still had the doily on it and he knew who had taken the bite. Bottom line is we are not bums.

Our assumption is that some generous party thrower just simply mis-placed the bottle into the recycling and that same person didn't notice that it was heavier than the rest of the bottles when moving it to a location where the public may or may not have access to that recycling. Upon which a person of certain wine knowledge and understanding might see an uncracked bottle of wine and think to ones self that the presence of that wine bottle amongst the rest was odd. Furthermore, said person might inspect the bottle of wine to determine it was a 2010 Wolf Blass Yellow Label Sauvignon Blanc and upon seeing that it was indeed unopened might remove the bottle from the rest of the recycling prior to its movement to the curb.

As we stated previously, not bums.

OK, now that that is settled to the wine.

Wolf Blass Sauv Blanc is crisp and light with a touch of bubbles and quite tasty, refuse or otherwise.  It has some peach and pear notes with a light yellow colour and some decent notes of apple and lychee on the palate.  It is not a tropical Sauv Blanc but still had a light fruitiness that is refreshing with just a touch of residual sugar, though we would definitely consider this to be a dry white wine.  All in all a great patio wine and at $18 locally (or free depending on where you get it), it is a good value.

As we cannot verify this purchase with a receipt, we will give it an informal rating this evening.  This in no way takes away from the wine as we will revisit this one when the time is right and the heat is off of us.

Sight = 4.0
Smell = 4.0
Taste = 7.75

Total = 15.75/20 (78.75%)

One day there may be a reality show about this....Canadian Wine Pickers....we can see it now.

Keep on drinking!
